Who is Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler?
Dr. Dee is a force to be reckoned with. She’s a former Georgia State Representative (2008–2017), where she broke ground as Chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus and the Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus. Her legislative efforts were rooted in uplifting marginalized communities and building generational wealth through policy change.
She has served as a chaplain and national leader for organizations such as the National Black Caucus of State Legislators and the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL Women). As an international trainer and advocate, she’s educated and empowered women in countries like Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Liberia on leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic participation.
A respected theologian and academic, Dr. Dee holds degrees from South Carolina State University, Kentucky State University, Turner Theological Seminary, and Clark Atlanta University. She’s also received six honorary doctorates, a reflection of her global influence and leadership.

Outside the studio, Dr. Dee’s impact continues through her nonprofit work and business ventures. She’s the President and Chief Ambassador to the United Nations for the Organization of World Leaders (OWL, Inc.), advocating for sustainable economic development across the African diaspora.
She also founded the Minority Cannabis Coalition (MCC), a network focused on ensuring minority equity and access in the rapidly growing cannabis industry. Through DDH & Associates, she’s helped over 1,000 minority and women candidates run for office or obtain board appointments. Her leadership is intersectional, bridging race, gender, politics, and spirituality.

This powerful exposé revealed how young Black girls were being trafficked online, helping catalyze national attention and contributing to the shutdown of the notorious Backpage.com.
